CONCORD, NH – Jason Henry was recently appointed to the New Hampshire Retirement System (NHRS, the retirement system) Board of Trustees as an employer member representing the NH Association of Counties.

Henry currently serves as the Superintendent of Rockingham County Department of Corrections in Brentwood. He previously was Superintendent of the Carroll County Department of Corrections. He also worked as a high school teacher and as a police patrol officer in New Hampshire.

He is a member of the Barnstead School Board and is involved in several volunteer activities, including coaching, working with youth organizations, and the Masons. He has a master’s degree in public policy from New England College and a B.S. from Plymouth State University.

NHRS is administered by a 13-member Board of Trustees that includes one employee member, one teacher member, one firefighter member, one police officer member, four employer representatives (one each representing the state, counties, schools, and municipalities), four public members, and the State Treasurer. All trustees – with the exception of the State Treasurer, who serves ex officio – are nominated by the Governor for three-year terms and must be confirmed by a vote of the Executive Council.

Henry, whose term runs through July 2025, replaced Cheshire County Administrator Chris Coates, who resigned from the Board.

All Trustees must have familiarity with or experience in finance or business management. A full list of Trustees is available at: https://www.nhrs.org/about-nhrs/board-of-trustees
